A chieftain of the Accord Party in Edo State, Dr Samson Isibor, has criticised two party leaders in Lagos West Senatorial District over their disagreement with Osun State Governor, Chief Ademola Adeleke, for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
The two leaders, Oke Sewedo and Oladeji Oluwatosin, who reportedly presented themselves as party leaders in Lagos State, were described as impostors.
A statement issued by Dr Isibor on behalf of the Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees (BOT), Rev. Isaac Adeniyi, urged the public to disregard their comments against the party’s National Leader, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The statement, made available to journalists in Benin City, Edo State, said there was no recognised platform known as the Concerned Leaders of Accord in Lagos State.
It added that only the party’s National Chairman and the Board of Trustees, led by Rev. Isaac Adeniyi, were authorised to issue statements on behalf of the party’s national leadership.
The BOT further reaffirmed its support for Adeleke’s decision to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.
It also expressed appreciation to the President for appointing Adeleke as the campaign coordinator for Osun State, describing the appointment as recognition of the governor’s political influence and leadership.
The statement assured Tinubu of the party’s commitment to mobilising support for his re-election bid in 2027, expressing confidence that Adeleke would deliver Osun State and attract Accord Party members across the country to support the President.
It reiterated that the party’s leadership stood firmly behind Adeleke and his political decisions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
