The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has charged the people of Zone 1 Senatorial District of Kaduna State to examine the benefits of the partnership between himself, the state governor, Sen. Uba Sani, and President Bola Tinubu with a view to casting their votes for all the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the forthcoming general elections.

Speaker Abbas also assured the people of his commitment towards bringing critical projects that have direct impacts on their lives, saying that governance exists to change people’s lives for the better.

The speaker gave the assurance on Friday while flagging off the construction of 80 different projects to be cited in the Zone 1 Senatorial District of Kaduna State.

Speaking at the Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology in Makarfi, where he laid the foundation for the construction of girls’ and boys’ hostels, the speaker noted that so many reforms of the Tinubu administration have yielded positive results, one of which is the availability of more funds going to states and local governments for development.

Speaker Abbas said he and Governor Sani have been able to get the support of President Tinubu, culminating in all the critical projects coming to the state, urging the people to reciprocate the gesture with their votes come January 2027.

“As the 2027 elections approach, examine what this partnership has delivered. Look at the hostels, classrooms, healthcare centre, school intervention, and bypass road. These are not campaign promises. They are projects entering the ground and services entering the community. Then ask a simple question: should this work continue?

“President Tinubu has provided the national direction. Governor Uba Sani has pursued inclusive development. Let your vote protect progress. Let it reward performance. Let it secure the next stage of development,” he said.

The Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Dr Abdulkadir Mu’azu Mayere, also an indigene of Makarfi, in his goodwill message told the people that Speaker Abbas is a blessing to the state and a confidant of Governor Uba Sani.

He said that, as a son of Makarfi, he was appointed as SSG by the governor on the recommendation of Speaker Abbas, noting that Makarfi has benefited from the APC administration; hence, the people should vote for the party in the 2027 elections.

Speaker Abbas also donated a brand new Toyota Hiace bus to his former school, Government Commercial College, Makarfi, where he also promised to install solar streetlights within the premises as well as a solar inverter system in their hostels.

In Sabongarin Hunkuyi under Kudan Local Government, Speaker Abbas also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of one block of 10 classrooms with offices and toilets on one suspended floor: the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Study Centre, with offices, a library, and a lecture hall.

He also inspected the ongoing construction of the Hunkuyi Eastern bypass of about one and a half kilometres.

The speaker informed them that every project he has attracted to the state was a product of consultation and collaboration with Governor Uba Sani, who, he said, in most cases designed and selected their locations.

He urged contractors handling the projects to prioritise the needs of the people. “To the contractors, the standard is clear. Build well. Build safely. Build on schedule. These projects must serve Kudan for many years. Poor work will not be accepted, and unnecessary delay will not be excused.”
