The National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday inaugurated the national structure of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a grassroots mobilization platform established to galvanize support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
The inauguration, held in Abuja, attracted top government officials, party leaders, traditional rulers, and political stakeholders from across the country.
President Tinubu was represented at the event by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio. Also in attendance were the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri; Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State; and other prominent dignitaries.
The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, formally inaugurated the national coordinators of the movement.
Those inaugurated include Comrade Sunday Adekanbi Asuku as National Coordinator; Koloko Francis, Deputy National Coordinator; Ambassador Daniel Oluwatosin Dorcas, National Secretary; Comrade Omole John Osi, National Organising Secretary; Ambassador Zakariyau Hashimu, North-East Zonal Coordinator; Chief Reuben Wilson, South-South Zonal Coordinator; Ambassador Omotowa Victor Opeyemi, North-Central Zonal Coordinator; Hon. Rilwanu Mukhtar, North-West Zonal Coordinator; Ambassador Orisamoluwa Adekunle John, South-West Zonal Coordinator; and Ambassador Ine Precious, South-East Zonal Coordinator.
Speaking at the event, Senator Akpabio said the administration of President Tinubu had laid a strong foundation for economic recovery and national development through strategic reforms and massive infrastructure investments.
According to him, the achievements recorded under the Renewed Hope Agenda have positioned the President for a successful re-election campaign.
“We must take the message of these achievements to every community and every household. Nigerians are beginning to see the results of the reforms, and it is our responsibility to ensure that the facts reach the grassroots,” he said.
Speaker Abbas also commended the initiative, describing it as a practical mechanism for strengthening citizens’ engagement with government policies and programmes.
He urged members of the movement to remain focused on issue-based advocacy and continue mobilising support for policies that promote national development.
In his remarks, Prof. Yilwatda said the APC remains committed to deepening its connection with ordinary Nigerians and ensuring that the benefits of government programmes are effectively communicated at the grassroots.
He noted that the party’s growing acceptance across the country was largely driven by the visible achievements of the Tinubu administration in infrastructure, agriculture, security, and economic reforms.
Traditional rulers at the event also canvassed support for the President’s re-election, urging Nigerians to sustain their support for policies aimed at promoting peace, stability, and economic growth.
The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement was established by High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, as a grassroots political mobilization platform designed to deepen public engagement and consolidate support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The movement operates through a door-to-door engagement strategy that reaches citizens at community, ward, street, and household levels across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to its promoters, the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between government and the people through civic education, public enlightenment, and direct engagement on government policies, programmes, and achievements.
The movement also aims to promote unity, social inclusion, political awareness, and citizen participation in governance while mobilising support for reforms considered critical to national growth and development.
Organisers said the platform would continue to serve as a nationwide network for grassroots advocacy and democratic participation as preparations for the 2027 general election gather momentum.
