Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the constitution of governing councils for three state-owned universities.

The development was announced on Tuesday in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Kingsley Emu, and posted on the Facebook page of the governor’s media aide, Ossai Success.

The universities are the University of Delta, Agbor; Dennis Osadebay University; and Southern Delta University.

The statement said the governing council of the University of Delta, Agbor, would be chaired by “Prof. Victor Peretomode as Pro-Chancellor, with Rear Admiral Peter I. Eluma, Prof. Ebele Egwunyega, Dr. Roland Oritsejafor, Mrs. Joy Enwa, Prof. Ben Oghojafor and Prof. Patrick Oromareghake as members.”

For Dennis Osadebay University, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare was appointed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, alongside Dr. Christopher Onyemenam, Chief Elmina V. Namah, Prof. Jacob Oboreh, Dr. Josephine Konyeme, Dr. Philomena Imonivewerha and Prof. Rowell Ubogu as members.

The council of Southern Delta University will be chaired by Chief Godson Echegile, with Prof. Benedict Binebai, Sur. Mrs. Felicia Omatsola, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, Dr. Tosan Luck Popo, Prof. William Ehwarieme and Prof. Mrs. Regina Arisi as members.

“The inauguration of the councils will be announced in due course,” the statement added.
