The Nasarawa State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, (MOU) with a Chinese mining company, Jinlide E Mining NIgeria Limited to facilitate strategic collaboration and cooperation in the development of lithium resources in Nasarawa State.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer MD/CEO of Nasarawa State Investment Development Agency (NASIDA), Ibrahim Abdullahi signed on behalf of Nasarawa State Government.
The signing ceremony took place shortly after governor Abdullahi Sule officially commissioned the Jinlide•Qiangyu New Energy production Plant in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, People’s Republic of China.
Speaking during the commissioning of the lithium plant, governor Abdullahi Sule, pledged his administration’s commitment to attracting strategic investments that promote industrialization and sustainable economic growth.
Governor Sule, who attended the event alongside the governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, described the commissioning of the ultra-modern facility as another milestone in the growing partnership between Chinese investors and Nigerian states critical solid minerals.
He lauded the management of Jinlide•Qiangyu New Energy for its confidence in Nigeria and for its commitment to advancing the global clean energy value chain.
The governor said that his administration was committed in creating an enabling environment for credible investors through transparent policies, infrastructure development and responsible mining practices.
Sule stated that his administration would continue to encourage investments that add value to the state’s mineral resources, create employment opportunities, facilitate technology transfer and stimulate inclusive economic development.
He said he looks forward to signing more Memoranda of Understanding with Chinese companies aimed at deepening existing partnerships and expanding investment opportunities in the mining and industrial sectors.
As part of the event, governor Sule and members of his delegation were conducted on an extensive tour of the state-of-the-art production facility, where they observed the company’s advanced manufacturing processes, modern technologies and stringent quality control systems, expressed satisfaction with the level of innovation at the Lithium plant and stressed the importance of replicating such value-addition initiatives in Nasarawa State.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Addra, in a statement, said the visit forms part of the governor’s strategic investment drive to strengthen international partnerships and consolidate Nasarawa State’s position as Nigeria’s leading destination for responsible mining, mineral beneficiation and industrial development.
