Galatasaray and Portugal forward Rafa Leão has spoken about the special significance of wearing the No. 7 shirt, revealing that the number allows him to honour his childhood idol, Cristiano Ronaldo.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X on Saturday, the Portuguese forward said it has been a special experience to wear the famous number because Ronaldo has been his idol since he was a child.

“It’s been special for me to wear the No. 7 shirt because Cristiano is my idol since I was a child,” Leão said.

The number also has a personal meaning for Leão, as his children were born on the 7th.

“My kids were also born on the 7th, so I am so happy,” he added.

Leão said he has tried his best to respect the significance of the shirt and was pleased to mark the occasion with a victory.

“I tried my best to respect this number, this shirt. I am happy with the win,” he said.
