Delivering the resolutions of the Fact-Finding Committee on the crisis in the party, which were endorsed by the national leadership, the APC Deputy National Chairman (South), Dr. Ben Okoye, said at a stakeholders’ meeting in Anambra:

“We recognise the state leadership of the party led by Sen. Emma Anosike as the chairman, and the party is putting measures in place to harmonise and accommodate other interests so that peace can be restored in the party.

“Yes, there are litigations here and there, and the national leadership of the party had to appeal against the judgment and obtained a stay of execution. With that stay of execution, Sen. Emma Anosike remains the chairman of the party in Anambra State.”

Continuing, Okoye stated:

“We agreed that people should withdraw all litigations or court cases because they lead the party nowhere, and there must be discipline in our party, even if you don’t like it.

“I have been expelled from the party before, and at some point, I left the party on my own, but what remains constant is the supremacy of the party, and there must be discipline in the party.

“If you join the party, you must abide by our rules, even though you may not like them. If you are angry, you can leave the party. Again, you have the right to go to court, but you must follow our constitution.”

Okoye announced that, in line with the party’s constitution, the leader of the APC in Anambra State is the party’s governorship candidate in the last election, while the deputy leader is Sen. Uche Ekwunife, who was the running mate.

“On the issue of reconciliation and harmonisation, we shall devise ways of running an all-inclusive party leadership in Anambra State. I urge all party members and faithful to embrace this peace as one family so that we can build a formidable platform to deliver our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for a second term in office because it is on his mandate that we shall stand,” he said.
