A foremost African Linguist, and Foundation President of the Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL) at the University of Ibadan (UI), Emeritus Professor Ayo Bamgbose, has died.
Saturday Telegraph gathered that he passed away at the age of 94.
Emeritus Professor Bamgbose served the University of Ibadan meritoriously and was the Dean of the Faculty of Arts from 1971 to 1973.
He was a distinguished contributor to the academic and intellectual life of the country.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale, on behalf of the University of Ibadan Community has commiserated with the family, friends and the intellectual community he left behind.
