This was contained in a press statement issued by the company on Wednesday, July 22, in Abuja.

The statement read: “Dangote Petroleum Refinery has resumed the sale of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in naira, providing a measure of relief to marketers and consumers.

“The gantry price is fixed at N1,215/ litre.”

New Telegraph recalls that a last week, Dangote had started selling some refined petroleum products in dollars. According to the dollar gantry or ex-depot pricing template circulated to marketers, petrol was sold for $0.779 per litre; diesel, $1.087 per litre and aviation fuel for $0.942 per litre.

The development increased the prices of some petroleum products especially petrol.

The development led to price spike as petrol price rose between N1200 to N1280 in Lagos.

The price also went higher in many other states and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja
