The Adamawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has passed a vote of confidence in its governorship candidate, Engineer Omar Suleiman.
The vote of confidence was announced by the party Caretaker Chairman, Abubakar Audu, who spoke on behalf of the twenty one Local Government Area chairmen reaffirming their support for his candidature ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to Abubakar Audu the “decision became necessary following reports and speculations suggesting that the party’s governorship candidate had been sidelined or that another candidate was being considered”.
While speaking with Journalists in Yola, the Committee Chairman dismissed such claims as false and the handiwork of those he described as “mischief makers bent on creating confusion within the party”.
According to him, the ADC in Adamawa remains united and focus as there’s no factions, stressing that Omar Suleiman remains the party’s duly recognised and accepted governorship candidate.
He urged party members and supporters to disregard the rumours and remain focused on strengthening the party ahead of future political activities.
The caretaker committee chairman also called on members across the 21 local government areas to continue working assiduously toward building a formidable opposition capable of offering Adamawa voters a credible alternative.
The party maintained that it remains united behind its leadership and governorship candidate, insisting that attempts to create division within the ADC would not succeed.
