The party, through its verified official X account, on Sunday shared an image of the alleged statement prominently stamped with the words “FAKE NEWS,” indicating that the notice did not emanate from the APC.

The purported statement, dated June 27, 2026, and allegedly signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, claimed that the APC had not released the official list of successful candidates from its primaries and urged the public to disregard any list already in circulation.

However, by branding the entire document as “Fake News,” the APC effectively disowned the statement, signalling that it was not an authentic communication from the party.
