The Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, (ADC) in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV), has called on young people across the state to unite beyond political affiliations and work collectively towards building a more prosperous, inclusive, and people-centred state.
Speaking on Friday while addressing 5,000 young Nigerians at Africa’s largest Gen Z gathering, GRV stated that his call centred on the need to guarantee youth empowerment, civic participation, and shared responsibility for the future of Lagos.
The occasion provided the opportunity for the governorship hopeful to unveil his developmental agenda for youths across the state.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd of students, entrepreneurs, innovators, professionals, and emerging leaders, Rhodes-Vivour emphasised the importance of transcending partisan divides and focusing on the common goal of creating opportunities and improving the quality of life for all Lagosians.
“I am building a broad coalition of young people in Lagos, regardless of political party affiliation, who are determined to see our state work for the greater good of all residents of Lagos,” he declared to loud applause from attendees.
He challenged young people to take a more active role in governance, public service, and community development, stressing that the future of Lagos depends on the willingness of its youth to engage meaningfully in shaping policies and leadership.
The event highlighted the growing influence of the youth demographic in determining the political, economic, and social future of Lagos State.
