A former Senator who represented the Ekiti South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Biodun Olujimi, congratulated the Ekiti state Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on his re-election for a second term.
The former Senate Minority Leader urged Governor Oyebanji to continue rendering great dividends of democracy to the people of the State.
Senator Olujimi, in a press statement she personally signed and made available to the newsmen, stated that, “The mandate renewed by the good people of Ekiti across the 16 local government areas is a resounding affirmation of their trust in your leadership, vision, and commitment to sustainable development.
“To win a second term in a competitive democratic contest is both an honour and a higher call to service. Apart from the fact that you have become a jinx breaker by emerging as the first Governor in the state to get a second term back-to-back, your victory signals that the people believe in the direction your administration has set and are prepared to walk further with you on that journey.
“This re-election is A mandate for continuity and consolidation. Your first term laid an important foundation in infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, youth and women empowerment.
“On your re-election, Ekiti people have once again charged you to build on those gains, and I urge you to consolidate on the ongoing projects and expand access to opportunities for every Ekiti son and daughter.
“I commend the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies, civil society organisations, the media, and all Ekiti voters for conducting themselves peacefully. Democracy thrives when citizens vote freely, and institutions act with integrity.
