Golden Eaglets head coach Eboboritse Uwejamomere says his team is ready to overcome the setback against Niger Republic and secure victory over Côte d’Ivoire.
Nigeria suffered a 2-1 defeat to Niger in their opening fixture of the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Championship.
The defeat has made the clash with Côte d’Ivoire a must-win for Nigeria, after the Ivorians drew their opening match against Niger and have one point ahead of Saturday’s encounter.
Eboboritse said his team would go all out for a win against the Ivorians.
“We had a setback in the game against Niger Republic, but we are in good spirits to overcome it as we play Côte d’Ivoire on Saturday,” Eboboritse told thenff.com.
“It is a dicey situation. We are calm and reminding the players of how we want to play. We have analysed Côte d’Ivoire, how they play, their strengths and weaknesses.”
