Minister of Works, Sen. David Umahi, has declared his unwavering belief that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure a second term in office in 2027, insisting that the President is divinely destined for leadership and possesses an uncommon ability to turn challenges into success.

Umahi, a key member of the President’s cabinet and one of Tinubu’s most vocal supporters within the administration, said he has absolute faith in God that Nigerians would return the President to office because of what he described as the administration’s achievements in infrastructure, economic reforms and national development.

Speaking on the political outlook ahead of the 2027 general election, the former Ebonyi State governor stated that Tinubu came into office at one of the most difficult periods in Nigeria’s history but has continued to demonstrate courage and visionary leadership.

“I have faith in God that the President will return. Power belongs to God and God brought him,” Umahi said. “He came at a very challenging period when all manner of obstacles were thrown his way, yet he has remained focused on rebuilding the country.”

The minister further described Tinubu as a leader whose destiny is tied to national transformation.

“President Tinubu is destined. Whatever he touches prospers. I have worked closely with him and I have seen his good heart, his good intentions and his commitment to Nigeria. God brought him at this critical time for a purpose,” Umahi said.

Umahi maintained that the President’s bold economic decisions, though difficult, were necessary to rescue the nation from years of structural challenges and place the economy on a sustainable path.

According to him, history would ultimately vindicate Tinubu’s reform agenda, especially in the areas of infrastructure renewal, fiscal reforms and investment in strategic sectors of the economy.

The minister also expressed confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would record significant electoral gains in the South-East in the next election cycle, arguing that ongoing federal projects in the region have begun to change political perceptions.

He noted that major road projects across the country, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road, the Second Niger Bridge access roads and several legacy projects, are evidence of the President’s commitment to equitable development and national integration.

“The President is doing very well. Nigerians can see the projects. They can see the commitment. They can see that he is working for every part of the country,” Umahi reportedly stated while defending the administration’s performance.

The minister’s latest endorsement is consistent with a series of statements he has made in recent months in support of Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Umahi has repeatedly argued that the President inherited a difficult economy and enormous governance challenges but has shown the courage to take decisions that previous administrations avoided. He has also maintained that Tinubu’s infrastructure revolution would become one of the defining achievements of the current administration.

As Minister of Works, Umahi has emerged as one of the most visible members of the Federal Executive Council, frequently highlighting the administration’s investments in highways, bridges and other strategic infrastructure projects.

“I believe in God for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. God brought him, and by the grace of God, He will complete the work He sent him to do for Nigeria,” the minister declared.
