The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has lost its incumbent lawmaker in the race for the Bogoro Constituency seat following the withdrawal of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Chief Whip, Hon. Musa Wakili Nakwada.
Nakwada, who currently represents the Bogoro Local Government Area constituency in the State Assembly, announced his decision to withdraw as the party’s flag bearer in a personally signed letter made available on Sunday.
The lawmaker, who chairs the House Committee on Forestry and Environment, said he was withdrawing from the contest in the interest of peace, unity and development of Bogoro Constituency.
In the letter titled “To God Be The Glory,” Nakwada said he had accepted the development in good faith as the will of God.
He appealed to his supporters to also accept the decision and continue to promote peace and unity in the constituency.
The Chief Whip thanked his supporters and constituents for their support throughout his tenure, but did not disclose what prompted his withdrawal.
He also remained silent on whether he would defect to another political party, endorse another aspirant or take any other political decision ahead of the election.
