Sani on Tuesday, urged prospective investors to educate themselves about the realities, risks and fluctuations associated with the stock market before committing their money.

He said the belief that buying shares would automatically make an investor a millionaire or billionaire within weeks or months was unrealistic, stressing the need for proper financial education.

“On a serious note, people need to be properly educated or enlightened on the realities and fluctuations of the business of buying shares and stocks,” Sani wrote.

He added that while investing was beneficial, people should understand both the potential gains and risks involved.

“While it’s good to invest, everyone with a phone should spare his or her time and also educate himself about the risks. It’s good to know both sides,” he said.

Sani also poked fun at investors who may develop an exaggerated sense of ownership after purchasing a small stake in Dangote Refinery.

“So, those who will buy N100k worth of shares from Dangote Refinery will soon be saying ‘Our Refinery’?” he asked.
