Supporters of the proposed Seyi Makinde-Lawal Daura presidential ticket have expressed confidence that the duo will defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election.
The supporters spoke in Lagos on Sunday at a Reset Agenda Training Programme organised by the Presidential Campaign Committee to strengthen its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the election.
The programme attracted Reset Agents, volunteers, special interest groups, support groups and other political stakeholders who were trained on how to take the campaign’s message to communities across Lagos State and other parts of the country.
The organisers said the training was aimed at strengthening the organisational capacity of the campaign structure and preparing volunteers for grassroots mobilisation.
A major feature of the event was the emergence of the slogan “MAD Reseter”, an acronym for the Makinde-Daura Reseter movement.
According to the organisers, the slogan represents their belief that Nigeria requires a change in leadership and a “reset” of the country’s governance system.
They said being a “MAD Reseter” was not about confrontation but about being bold and committed to what they described as a new direction for Nigeria.
Among those involved in the mobilisation effort are the Reset Agent Coordinator for Lagos State/FCT, Hon. Sam Aiboni; Director of Volunteer, Special Interest Groups and Support Groups, Hon. Dennis Emmanuel; National Coordinator of Reset Agents, Osi Iwenekhai; National Coordinator of Special Interest Groups, Ruth Ahgo; and Prince Dr Christopher Odianarewo.
The organisers said the growing network was focused on taking the Reset Agenda to communities, constituencies and various interest groups ahead of the 2027 election.
They expressed confidence that Makinde would emerge victorious, citing his experience in governance, political appeal and what they described as his vision for national development.
The campaign said its proposed agenda would focus on development, accountability, economic opportunities and improved living standards, while urging supporters to prioritise issues and policy proposals over political divisions.
The Lagos training was described by the organisers as part of preparations for a broader grassroots campaign as political activities ahead of the 2027 general election gather momentum.
They reiterated their call for what they described as a “reset” of Nigeria’s leadership and governance, with the slogan: “Makinde-Daura 2027: The Dawn of a Breathable Future.”
