Campaign posters of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and its Lagos governorship candidate, Prince Laja Adeoye, have appeared in several parts of Lagos State ahead of the 2027 general election.
The posters were sighted in areas including Ikeja, Ogba, Oshodi, Iyana Ipaja, Ikotun and Lagos Island, among other locations across the state.
The materials, branded in the party’s colours and bearing the party’s cassava logo, carry the slogan “Atunto Eko 1.0”, which the party describes as its agenda for Lagos.
Speaking on the campaign activities, Adeoye said the initiative would focus on issues including employment, housing, transportation, healthcare, flooding, waste management and security.
He said his proposed agenda includes creating jobs through technology hubs, agro-processing clusters and skills development programmes across the state.
On housing, Adeoye said his administration, if elected, would seek partnerships with the private sector to provide affordable housing and access to single-digit mortgages.
He also listed expansion of bus rapid transit services, integration of water transportation, construction of bus terminals and digitisation of traffic management among his proposed transport reforms.
On healthcare, the APM candidate said his administration would focus on improving primary healthcare facilities, including the rehabilitation and equipping of 57 primary healthcare centres within 18 months.
Adeoye also proposed measures to address flooding and waste management, including the desilting of major canals and waste-to-wealth programmes, while promising to deploy technology as part of efforts to improve community security.
He said the party would use the campaign period to engage residents and present its policies ahead of the election.
The Laja Adeoye Campaign Organisation (LACO) had on Wednesday announced the commencement of electioneering activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election, citing the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a statement by its spokesman, Ayodele Kazeem, the organisation said its campaign would focus on policies and issues affecting residents rather than personalities.
It listed education, healthcare, housing, transportation, security, employment, infrastructure, flooding, waste management and the welfare of vulnerable residents among the issues to be addressed during the campaign.
LACO said its activities would cover communities across the state, including Lagos Island, Epe, Alimosho, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos Mainland, Agege and Ibeju-Lekki.
The organisation said it planned to engage communities, professionals, artisans, traders, youths, women, traditional institutions, religious bodies, civil society organisations and other stakeholders during the campaign.
It also called on supporters and members of the campaign organisation to conduct themselves peacefully and within the provisions of the law throughout the electioneering period.
