2027: Group Takes Tinubu Re-Election Campaign To Abuja Streets

As political parties and interest groups formally begin electioneering activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Hope Alive Initiative (HAI) on Wednesday took its campaign in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election directly to the streets of Abuja.

As political parties and interest groups formally begin electioneering activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Hope Alive Initiative (HAI) on Wednesday took its campaign in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s re-election directly to the streets of Abuja.

The group deployed giant branded mascots and volunteers across major locations in the Federal Capital Territory in what it described as the first phase of a grassroots mobilisation programme aimed at promoting the achievements and policies of the Tinubu administration.

The colourful street campaign, which coincides with the commencement of the official campaign period as provided by the Electoral Act 2026 (as amended), signals the beginning of intensified political activities by supporters of the President ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Hope Alive Initiative, a civic organisation that says it is committed to promoting good governance and citizen engagement, had earlier announced plans to combine street-level mobilisation with traditional and digital media campaigns in support of what it described as the administration’s reform agenda.

Speaking during Wednesday’s exercise, the Director of Press and Communications of the Initiative, Mr Ernest Omoarelojie, said the group was convinced that the Tinubu administration had undertaken critical reforms capable of repositioning the country for sustainable growth and development.

According to him, the objective of the campaign is not merely political mobilisation but also encouraging Nigerians to assess governments based on measurable policies, programmes and outcomes.

“We are asking Nigerians to look beyond sentiment. Let us look at the facts as they are,” Omoarelojie said.

He maintained that while some of the reforms introduced by the administration may have imposed short-term challenges, they were designed to lay a stronger foundation for long-term economic stability and national development.

The HAI spokesman highlighted the students’ loan scheme, ongoing economic reforms, foreign exchange management measures and infrastructure development projects as key achievements that should form part of public assessment of the administration.

He argued that transformational policies often require time before their benefits become fully evident, urging Nigerians to allow the administration to continue implementing its programmes.

According to him, the 2027 election presents an opportunity for citizens to evaluate the direction of the country and determine whether the current administration deserves a renewed mandate.

The Initiative said its mobilisation campaign would continue in phases across communities and public spaces, with the aim of engaging citizens on governance issues and encouraging informed participation in the electoral process.
