Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has said the interventions of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the performance of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo could strengthen support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Fanwo said the Federal Government’s interventions in Kogi, particularly in infrastructure, security, transportation and strategic economic investments, had provided what he described as tangible benefits to residents.
The commissioner stated this while assessing the relationship between the Federal Government and the Kogi State Government, saying ongoing projects and interventions were creating new opportunities for the state.
According to him, the reconstruction of major federal highways, support for security operations and development of strategic economic infrastructure had strengthened the partnership between Abuja and Lokoja.
He added that the Ododo administration had complemented the Federal Government’s efforts through investments in roads, healthcare, education, agriculture, security and rural development.
Fanwo said the combination of federal and state interventions had given the APC what he described as a record of performance to present to Kogi voters ahead of the 2027 elections.
“With what the President has done in Kogi State, it will be difficult for other presidential candidates to mount a serious campaign in the State on moral ground,” he said.
He added that the people could see the projects and interventions of the Tinubu administration, stressing that development remained more important to citizens than politics.
“Politics is important, but development is more important. The people are interested in what government is doing to improve their lives and expand opportunities for their children,” Fanwo said.
The commissioner also stressed the need for continuity in the relationship between the Federal and state governments, particularly for the completion of ongoing projects.
“We need the roads to be completed. We need the airport to become operational. We need our economic corridors to expand. We need more investments and more opportunities for our young people. That is why continuity matters,” he said.
Fanwo said the APC would continue to engage with Kogi residents and communicate what he described as the achievements of the Tinubu and Ododo administrations as the 2027 elections draw closer.
