As the battle for the 2027 Presidential election draws closer, the former Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Datti Baba-Ahmed has posited that none of the candidates contesting the 2027 Presidency will be able to improve Nigeria.
Baba-Ahmed, who spoke on Mic On Podcast, referenced his former principal, Peter Obi, saying the former Anambra State Governor left his comfort zone when he abandoned the LP.
This is as he recalled warning Obi at Yar’Adua Centre, when he was considering joining ADC at that time.
According to him, he told the economic expert that this was not the right path.

He remarked: “None of the people contesting will improve Nigeria, including Peter Obi.
“Peter Obi left his comfort zone; he was the Labour Party presidential candidate since 2024. When he was considering joining ADC, I had to meet him at Yar’Adua Centre and warn him that this was not the right path.
“I told him this was the last time I would come to that place, and I believed he was making a mistake. Was I proven wrong? Yes, and within four months, Obi left ADC.
“I dislike people who contradict themselves, and I do not wish to criticise Atiku’s politics, as that is not my focus.”
