Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, alongside former Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Sunday paid a consultative visit to former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The meeting according to Makinde was focused on pressing national issues and strategic political consultations as the country prepares for the upcoming general elections.
Confirming the visit, Governor Seyi Makinde emphasized the value of engaging seasoned elder statesmen during pivotal moments in the nation’s political timeline.

He noted that their discussions centered on critical matters concerning national stability and future governance.
The Oyo Governor expressed gratitude to Chief Obasanjo’s for his guidance.
“Earlier today, we visited Baba, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR in Abeokuta. Our discussions centred on important national issues in view of the upcoming general election. We appreciate Baba for his wise counsel at this crucial time in our nation’s history,” Makinde said.
The joint appearance of Governor Makinde and former Governor Fayemi has however stirred reactions within the political circles.
Former President Obasanjo’s Abeokuta residence continues to serve as a major hub for high-stakes political diplomacy, regularly attracting key figures across party lines seeking counsel during crucial election cycles.
