Buhari made the declaration in a statement in which he sought the support, prayers and trust of constituents as he begins his campaign ahead of the 2027 general election.

He described the opportunity as a call to service and an avenue to contribute to the development and progress of the Daura, Sandamu and Mai’Adua Federal Constituency.
Buhari said his campaign would not be focused solely on seeking votes but would also involve engaging residents, listening to their concerns, understanding their aspirations and presenting what he described as a clear vision for effective and responsive representation.
According to him, he plans to personally engage constituents across Daura, Sandamu and Mai’Adua during the campaign period.
He said he would visit communities and meet traditional and community leaders, women, youths, farmers, traders, professionals and other stakeholders to understand the issues affecting the constituency.
The APC candidate also promised that his campaign would be peaceful, responsible and respectful, urging his supporters to conduct themselves with maturity and discipline throughout the electioneering period.
Buhari warned against violence, intimidation, provocation, hate speech, harassment, destruction of property and other actions capable of disrupting peace in the constituency.
He stressed that political differences should not turn residents into enemies, noting that people could support different candidates while maintaining mutual respect.
“We can disagree politically without becoming enemies. We can support different candidates without losing respect for one another. At the end of every election, we will still remain neighbours, friends, brothers and sisters,” he said.
Buhari further described the campaign as a collective effort aimed at securing a better future for the constituency and creating opportunities for future generations.
He appealed to constituents for their prayers, support, encouragement and trust as he embarks on the campaign.
He prayed for divine guidance, wisdom, protection for the communities and a peaceful and successful campaign.
Buhari formally declared the campaign open with a pledge to work with constituents to build what he described as a better Daura, Sandamu and Mai’Adua Federal Constituency.
